reading charter school

Reading and finding out more about charter schools was interesting because in my hometown we have a charter school of our own. I also heard that they were recognized this year for their outstanding work and ranked at the top of the charts for charter schools. I've always heard the name charter school but never really new what went on their. Now I know that Charters schools can be put together by anyone or any group that has a specific purpose for teaching. They must prove that they can put this purpose together and run it succesfully. The don't teach to any kind of standardized test, they teach only what the student is interested in and make them stronger in that subject. This is good because students will love what they are learning and hopefully they become interested in the subjects which they dont like as much.

I also have always heard things about charter schools but I never really knew what they were. After our class discussion and viewing of a clip, I understand the concept of charter schools. I think that the concept of charter schools is a great idea but may not always be the better choice. Charter schools do not have standardized testing which is good because it gives teachers more time to focus on curriculum and incorporate fun activities to encourage learning among students. But charter schools are exempt from most state rules and regulations. Charter shcools are independent and free from the rules but are accountable for results. There are also sports or athletics in charter schools which is a big part of public schools and I think can help students in many ways by teaching the importance of team work and may lead to a more succesful life. Also, some charter schools are entrepreneurs and want to make money. Attending a public school is free and also create learning experiences for students. Depending on the area, public schools are just as good and sometimes better than a charter school.
